Can you believe this?

As everyone has heard by now about the blockbuster trade between the Red Sox and Dodgers, I can’t believe that the Red Sox were able to move Carl Crawford – the guy is currently INJURED – and that there would be a team to take him and his $102.5 million remaining off of Boston’s hands!!

Yes, the Dodgers are in a playoff race, but SUCKER must be written all over their faces to take Carl Crawford. Is taking on $102.5 million worth the chance to try and make the playoffs?

This sucks for the Jays because not only does it free Boston from the shackles of being stuck with massively bad contracts and immense sucking for the next 6 years, but this deal gives Boston the flexibility to add more this off-season just when the Jays are said to be aggressive in pursuing talent as well.

Well, at least Boston still has the same management group in place. They could just keep on making mistakes which would be good too.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers have one of the fieriest lineups now with the addition of Gonzales to form a menacing 3 thru 6 in the order, although the rest of their lineup is nothing to shake a stick at.

Before trade (couresty of MLBdepthcharts):

1 LF Shane Victorino**
2 2B Mark Ellis
3 CF Matt Kemp
RF Andre Ethier*
SS Hanley Ramirez
6 1B Juan Rivera
7 3B Luis Cruz
8 C A.J. Ellis

 After Trade:

1 LF Shane Victorino**
2 2B Mark Ellis
3 CF Matt Kemp
1B Adrian Gonzales
RF Andre Ethier*
6 SS Hanley Ramirez
7 3B Luis Cruz
8 C A.J. Ellis

Needless to say, the Red Sox are the clear winners in this trade hands down, which is painful for me to see. They even GOT 2 nice pitching prospects out of the deal!?!? How did they manage that??  Maybe they don’t suck so much after all….
